Helen Marie Ladner Carter, 86, of Waveland, MS passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Helen was a native of Ansley & Waveland. She lived most her life here on the Coast. She graduated from Bay High School in 1950. Helen retired from the Waveland Police Department as a Dispatcher, She enjoyed working in her garden, having her great-grandchildren over and working on her family tree research.

She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman M. Carter; son, Timothy M. Carter, Sr.; parents, Coburn Bud & Louise LaFontaine Ladner; brothers, Bully Ladner and Stanley Ladner; sisters, Lois Evans and Bertha Necaise; granddaughter, Lindsey Carter and grandson, Randall Gary Smith, II.

She is survived by her three sons, Wayne Carter (Peaches), Gary Smith (Susan) and Alan Carter (Winnie); daughter, Missy (Frank) Yasko; grandchildren, Amanda Carter (Anthony), Timothy Carter, Jr. (Emily), Danica Saegert (Justin), Bridget Ladner (Jody), Dakota Spurlock (Chris) and Adam Carter; great grandchildren, Lindsey Carter, Lauren Carter, Logan Carter, Landon Carter, Araceli Carter, Gaven Landry, Cameron Leger, Brandon Leger, Alivia Saegert, Addy Saegert, Tayler Smith, Brittney Parker (Cody) and Destre Ladner; great-great grandchildren, Railyn Parker, Brayden Parker, Faithlyn Ladner and Brielle Ladner; brother, E.J. Ladner (Bev) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Morgan & Brandon Mitchell for helping with granny.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Bayou Caddy Cemetery in Ansley, MS. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
