Bank Day is held twice a month at North Bay Elementary school.

Library Media Specialist Johnnette Bilbo said The Peoples Bank sponsors Bank Day.

The students deposit money into their savings accounts ,she said. We call students to the library to make their deposit, she said.

"We are trying to teach students the skill of wise money management and to learn the importance of saving money," Bilbo said. "Students receive a bank statement in the mail each month."

About 100 people participate,Bilbo said.

Parents volunteer during Bank Day.

Students fill out a deposit slip and receive a receipt once they make a deposit, Bilbo said.

If students want to take money from their bank account, they must go to the bank, she said.
