William "Will" Douglas Morgan
William "Will" Douglas Morgan, age 56 and a resident of Pass Christian, died on Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Malongo, Angola (Africa).

Mr. Morgan was a resident of the MS Gulf Coast for the past 30 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and attended Michael Memorial Baptist Church in Gulfport. Will had worked 35 years for Tenneco & Chevron, and at the time of his death, he was a construction foreman in Malongo, Cabinda, Angola (Africa).

Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel E. Sr., & Dorothy Mae Morgan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Glenda (Faye) Morgan of Pass Christian; his daughter, Daphne (Necaise) Hundl of Gulfport; his brother, Ernie Morgan, Jr., and his sister, Claudia Polanik, both of Big Spring, TX; his grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Jaden, and Jaleigh Hundl and his great grandchild, Braylen Hundl, all of Gulfport.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Michael Memorial Baptist Church on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., where friends may visit two hours prior to the service.

Billy Ray Hill
Billy Ray Hill, 49, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2009 in Bay St. Louis, MS. He was born in Gulfport, MS and was a longtime resident of Hancock County, MS. He was of the Catholic Faith and belonged to St. Matthew Catholic Church in White Cypress Community. Billy Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd L. Hill and sister, Tina Necaise.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Gandy Hill of Bay St. Louis, MS, his mother & step-father, Willie Mae Necaise and Teddy Necaise of Kiln, MS; 2 brothers, Donald Wayne Necaise & wife Ronnie of Diamondhead, MS, Russell Necaise & friend, Susan Flowersof Kiln, MS, 2 sisters, Darlene Helton & husband, Phil, Tammy Cuevas & husband, Barry of Kiln, MS, and numerous nieces & nephews.

The visitation will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church in White Cypress Community. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Interment will follow in Rotten Bayou Cemetery in Kiln, MS.

Johnny S. Wallace III
Funeral Services will be held Saturday June 27, 2009 at 12:00 noon at St. Rose Delima Catholic, Bay St. Louis, MS for Johnny S. Wallace III, age 49, of Waveland who passed away Monday June 22, 2009 in Gulfport Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 27 from 10am - 12:00 noon at St. Rose DeLima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Rest Cemetery Bay St. Louis, MS. Father Dennis Carver will officiate at the service.

A native of Bay St. Louis, MS. Wallace was a Bay St. Louis Police Officer. He was a former Hancock County Sheriff deputy, former Gulfport Police officer, and a former Stennis Space Center Security Officer.

Wallace served in several overseas military security tours, including Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Berlin, Germany.

He lived in Germany for 13 years. Wallace was A Tank Cure Member, belonged to the Police Benlovent Association and was a 3rd Degree Mason.

Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Wallace of Berlin Germany; his father Johnny Wallace and stepmother Elena Wallace of Bay St. Louis, MS, sisters Joy Anderson, Bay St. Louis & June (Kennedy) Bush, Waveland, MS. 2 brothers twin brother Joel (Lunita) Wallace of Waveland, MS and Michael T. Wallace of Atlanta, GA; step sisters Toni Paternostra and Pam Magee both of New Orleans, LA, God Mother, Aunt Mary Johnson, Godfather Uncle William Tate both of Bay St. Louis, MS; Great Aunt Victoria Webb of Pass Christian, MS; companion Natalie Miller of Kiln, MS.

Wallace was preceded in death by his mother, Phalba Tate Wallace; brother Jeffrey P. Wallace; and stepbrother John Paternostra.

Frances Hewes Voelke
Frances Hewes Voelkel, age 71, of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, June 25th in Ocean Springs . Frances was born December 16, 1937 in Gulfport, and was a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents Frederick Searle and Gladys May Hewes; her brother, Frederick Searle Hewes III; her sister, Mary Hewes McQuiston; and her husband, Henry Gerard Voelkel.

She is survived by her Son Jacob Gerard Voelkel, and wife Rachel; her daughter Sarah
Voelkel Burnett, and husband Rick, her brother James Finley Hewes, Sr; her sister Anne Hewes Haddock; and her grandchildren Davis Gerard Voelkel, Katherine Anne Burnett, Patrick Charles Burnett, and Mathhew Henry Burnett.

“Frankie” developed lifelong friendships while attending St Joseph’s Academy High School in Bay St. Louis. “Freddie” entered into the Sisters of Saint Joseph convent in New Orleans where she served the Church and began teaching. She left the convent at the age of 32, and formed an everlasting bond with the different figures she met on her journey. “Miss Voelkel” continued teaching for the Diocese of Biloxi at St. John Elementary and High School, Mercy Cross, and Our Lady of Academy until she retired in 1997. She affected the lives of many teachers, parents, and students along the way. “Frances Jane”, “Annie” always put family first, treating her nieces and nephews like her own. “Granny” took no greater joy than spending time and making memories with her four grandchildren. “Frances” enjoyed playing bridge and bunco with friends. She volunteered at the Saint Vincent De Paul Society and The Presentation Sisters, and supported many local charities.

No matter what name she went by, Frances will be remembered as a caring, strong, and selfless person; and she will be solely missed.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at10:00 a.m. at Saint John’s Catholic Church in Gulfport with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Saint Vincent De Paul Society, C/O St. John Catholic Church, 2414 17th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501.

Irwin Louis Cucullu
Captain Irwin Louis Cucullu, U.S.N. (Ret.), 82, died on June 23, 2009, in Bay St. Louis, MS. He was married to his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia Colling Cucullu and was the father of Linda C. Newell and the late Robert Cucullu. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason and Emily Newell.

He was born in New Orleans, LA and resided primarily in Bay St. Louis for the past 35 years. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School and the United States Merchant Marine Academy, class of 1947.

The Academy honored him by naming a room in Melville Hall after him and awarding him an Outstanding Professional Achievement Award in 1992 and a Distinguished Service Award in 2007.

He was active in the alumni associations of both schools and was founder and past president of the New Orleans chapter of the USMMA Alumni Association.

He was a retired marine insurance executive whose expertise in the field was recognized worldwide. He served on the Boards of the Bay St. Louis Development Foundation and the United Way of Hancock County.

He renovated many homes in Bay St. Louis, doing most of the construction himself with the aid of his wife, Patt. He was a member of the Live Oak Society and belonged to the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club and the Hancock County Historical Society.

For many years he portrayed a character in the living history programs presented by the Historical Society on Halloween night at the Cedar Rest Cemetery.

He will be missed by his former coffee club and Friday night dinner buddies, as well as by his family and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2009, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm.
