Hancock County Sheriff's Deputies on Wednesday arrested a Bay St. Louis man who had allegedly downloaded child pornography.
Sheriff's Chief Investigator Glenn Grannan said Friday that Christopher Seitz, 22, was arrested and charged with two counts of exploitation of a child (possession of child pornography).
According to Grannan, Investigator Stephanie Stewart received information about an Internet Protocol (IP) address in Bay St. Louis that was downloading child porn.
Stewart is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which monitors the internet and individuals suspected of downloading illegal materials.
Stewart was able to link the the IP address back to Seitz and on Wednesday, she and fellow officers served a search warrant on Seitz apartment, officials said. During the search, deputies discovered "many" illicit images of young boys performing sexual acts, Grannan said.
Seitz was arrested and several of his personal possessions were taken into evidence, officials said.
Seitz was booked at the Hancock County Jail where he remained in custody at press time Friday.
