Organizers have tentatively scheduled Bay St. Louis Harbor Fest 2014 for July 25, 26 and 27, to coincide with the expected grand opening of the Bay St. Louis Harbor and Marina. The Bay St. Louis City Council must approve the dates before they are official. Michael Grimm will headline the event.
Officials at Bay Harbor Fest announced Friday that this year's event is set for the weekend of July 25, 26, and 27 pending approval of the Bay St. Louis City Council at Tuesday's meeting.
The city council had previously agreed to host the grand opening of the new $20 million municipal harbor in conjunction with Harbor Fest.
One of the headlining artists for this year's Harbor Fest is Waveland native Michael Grimm. Local artist Rochelle Harper is signed to perform and other artists are expected to be announced soon.
Bay Harbor Fest founder Mike Rosato, earlier this month said that this year's festival will be a scaled-down version of last year's festival, but still a "great time for everyone."
The event is free to the public, but Harbor Fest will be selling special VIP Meet and Greet packages, officials said. Rosato said he is eyeing six to eight bands to perform over the weekend. Harbor Fest will also host fund raising events for Hope Haven, an adult and children's fishing tournament; a beach party near the Rutherford Pier; an art market, and food and beer court. The grand opening of the harbor will be on Saturday evening. Many local and state dignitaries will be in attendance.
