A Kiln man was arrested this week for allegedly molesting a child in Bay St. Louis.
Bay officers on Thursday arrested Earnest Guyton, 36, on charges of Molesting/Touching a Child for Lustful Purposes, Bay Deputy Police Chief Christine de Bouchel said.
"On Monday, April 21, Bay St. Louis police responded to a complaint of child abuse," de Bouchel said. "Detective Sgt. Gary Hudgens opened an investigation into the allegations ... and learned that the separate incidents of abuse allegedly took place in (an unincorporated area) of Hancock County, as well as Bay St. Louis.
"A search warrant was conducted of the suspect's home in Hancock County. Hancock deputies, Bay detectives and Waveland police officers all assisted in the execution of the warrant.
"Sheriff's Investigator Stephanie Stewart is in charge the sheriff's office's end of the investigation," De Bouchel said. "This case is a good example of teamwork with all three agencies."
De Bouchel said further charges may be pending, since the case is still under investigation.
As of press time Friday, Guyton was being held at the Hancock Jail on a $75,000 bond on the Bay St. Louis charges, De Bouchel said.
Hancock County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Don Bass said Friday that investigators are still probing the case to determine if Guston may face additional charges.
