Authorities have released the identity of a 64-year-old Kiln man who was killed Tuesday in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. 603.
Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk said last night the victim was Olin Boyle, a former Hancock County corrections officer.
"The vehicle was north-bound on Hwy. 603, about a quarter-mile north of Standard-Dedeaux Rd.," Master Sgt. Johnny Poulos, information officer for Mississippi Highway Patrol, said Tuesday. "Witnesses say the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, went down and embankment and collided with a power pole.
"The driver was ejected and then the vehicle collided with a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene."
The accident occurred at around 2:11 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim's name was not available by press time, Faulk said yesterday, because authorities had not yet been able to notify the next-of-kin.
