Two Bay St. Louis residents were arrested this week in Gulfport for the alleged possession of methamphetamine, Harrison County Sheriff Melvin T. Brisolara said.
"Richard Grant Hughes, 34, and April Nychole Sheppard, 36, both were charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine," Brisolara said in a news release.
"The Harrison County Sheriff's Narcotics Division executed two search warrants at 3300 West Beach Blvd., Gulfport, and agents discovered Sheppard to be in possession of approximately one gram of methamphetamine and was also a wanted fugitive through the Hancock County Sheriff's Office for possession of a controlled substance," Brisolara said. "Agents also located Hughes and found him to be in possession of approximately six grams of methamphetamine and charged him with possession with intent to distribute."
Justice Court Judge Dianne Ladner set Hughes and Sheppard's bonds at $50,000 each in the case. However, Sheppard is being held with no bond for prior judicial proceedings through the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Brisolara said.
