Children’s International Medical Group (CIMG), a leading provider of pediatric services with offices in Louisiana and Mississippi, is opening an office in Bay St. Louis to provide primary and acute care pediatric services in Hancock County.
Eduardo Hernandez, M.D., president of CIMG, will begin seeing patients on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 151 Thames Avenue, formerly the office of retired Hancock Medical pediatrician Bertrand Sy, M.D. Office hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments can be made at (228) 467-1320. Most insurances and Mississippi Medicaid are accepted.
Patients previously receiving services at Hancock Medical Pediatrics since Dr. Sy’s retirement, can continue to receive uninterrupted medical care with Dr. Hernandez and CIMG at the 151 Thames Avenue location. Written authorizations for patient medical records to remain with CIMG will be available at the office beginning Tuesday.
Dr. Hernandez, a board certified pediatrician, has practiced pediatrics since completing his residency at New York Medical College in 1988. He has a specialty in Pediatric Pulmonary/Critical Care which he completed at Tulane University School of Medicine in 1992. CIMG, which he founded and heads, includes general pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists and certified nurse practitioners. In addition to the new pediatric office in Bay St. Louis, CIMG staff currently provide pediatric services in Pearl River, Picayune, Slidell, Hammond and many other areas in Louisiana. In addition to hospitals in Louisiana and Picayune, Dr. Hernandez is on staff at Hancock Medical Center.
“We are a family-oriented pediatric organization committed to providing excellent health care services to our patients, their families and our communities,” said Dr. Hernandez. “We do this by promoting physical and emotional wellbeing through comprehensive and personalized medical care in a nurturing, professional, and courteous environment. We look forward to welcoming and serving patients in Hancock County.”
“Hancock Medical is pleased to welcome Dr. Hernandez and CIMG to Hancock County,” said Hancock Medical CEO Polly Davenport. “Comprehensive pediatric services are an important addition for health care in our Hancock County communities. We look forward to working with Dr. Hernandez and his staff.”
