Jamiah Collins, Catera Gibbs and Darius Ayodele (below) said they had a great time skating on Thursday and were thankful to the staff of Hollywood Casino.

Bay St. Louis' Hollywood Casino treated the children of the Boys and Girls Club of Hancock County to a private ice skating party
"This is the first year the Hollywood Casino hosted an indoor ice skating rink," Resort Marketing Manager Brandy Jones said. "It's something the families of our patrons and employees can do outside of the casino. We wanted to reach out to the community and give these children something festive to do for the holidays.
"This is such a great holiday gift for the Hollywood to give to the kids," Boy and Girls Club Executive Director David Sykes said. "About 60 of our children, ranging in age from 10 to 15 years old, will enjoy ice skating, hot dogs and other goodies.
"It's such a fun afternoon for the kids."
Hancock County club Director Shannel Smith said the kids were so excited about their field trip.
"Some were a little fearful because some haven't ice skated before," Smith said,"but they couldn't wait to get here.
"We just feel so blessed that the Hollywood thought about us, we really appreciate it especially time time of year."
13-year-old Jamiah Collins said that it was her first ice skating experience.
"I almost broke my ankle," Collins said with a laugh. "This is so much fun."
Hollywood Casino also gave free skating passes to the children at the Pass Christian and Slidell Boys and Girls Clubs.
The skating rink is located inside the Cypress Ballroom at Hollywood Casino.
The cost to skate is $10 and includes ice skates.
Skaters must be five years of age or older. Adults and children under five who are not skating may be admitted for free.
Hot chocolate, popcorn and other holiday treats are available for purchase.
Today, the rink will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
