An early-morning fire Sunday has left a Deer Park family homeless for the holidays.
Hancock County Fire Marshal Brian Adam said Tuesday that authorities were notified of a structure fire at 26100 Broadridge Drive in Deer Park about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Deer Park is located in the north-west part of Hancock County.
A man and a woman were sleeping inside the mobile home when the blaze began, but both were able to escape without injury, Adam said. The Leetown Fire Department arrived shortly after to extinguish the fire, but the trailer suffered major damage, Adam said. Officials have yet to determine the cause of the blaze and they have called in the state fire marshal's office to help investigate, Adam said.
