St. Stanislaus rocks Moss Point 41-21

The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws continued their quest on an undefeated regular season with a 41-21 victory over the Moss Point Tigers 'between the walls' on Senior Night.
The Rocks (9-0, 4-0) lit the scoreboard first after the Rock defense held strong on a fourth down from the Rock three yardline. The defensive stand was led by Joe Guillotm Johnny Longo, Kevin Haas, Jordan Bradford and Zach Ladner.
The Rocks drove 97 yards in eight plays to get on the scoreboard. Evan Lundgren rushed twice for nine yards each followed by Tyler Allen's 19-yard pass to Chase Rogers. Allen then hit Chase Zimmerman for a gain of 31 yards and Brennen Bradley for seven yards. Allen found Corbin Patton for a 14-yard scoring toss with 6:47 left in the first quarter. Joe Guillot's two-point conversion was good making the score 8-0.
The Rock defense held firm on the next series forcing an interception by Guillot in Tiger territory.
It took the Rocks just three plays to find the endzone. Allen hit Rogers for nine yards before finding him again for the 17-yard scoring strike with 3:58 left in the opening quarter. Patrick McRaney's PAT made the score 15-0.
Moss Point responded on the ensuing possession after a\n eight-play drive that ended with Keshun Wells scoring from five yards out with 11:48 left in the first half. The two-point conversion failed leaving the score 15-6.
Each team traded possessions before the Rocks got on the board again on a three-play drive. Allen found Chase Zimmerman for a diving 39-yard catch in the endzone with 7:30 left in the half. McRaney's PAT was good making the score 22-6.
SSC's Lundgren intercepted the Tigers at the Rock 47 yardline to put the Rocks back on offense.Patton broke free for 34-yard run. Allen found Chase Rhodes on the next play for a 19-yard score with 6:05 left in the half. McRaney's PAT was good making the score 29-6.
SSC added one more score in the half when Allen hit Rhodes for a 34-yard score with 2:43 left in the half. The PAT was blocked leaving the score 35-6.
The Tigers opened the second half scoring with as Wells ripped off an 80-yard run to the Rock one yardline. Abron Sipp scored on the next play from one-yard out with 5;50 left in the third quarter. The PAT by Xavier Walker was good making the score 35-13.
SSC responded on the ensuing series with a 51-yard scoring run by Patton with 2:32 left in the third quarter. McRaney's PAT missed leaving the score 41-13.
Moss Point closed out the scoring late in the fourth quarter with a five-play 60-yar drive. Calterrius Anderson scored from eight yards out with 3:01 left in the game. Bennie Curry hit Taquii Williams for the two-point conversion to make the final score 41-22.
SSC head coach Gabe Fertitta commented, "This win tonight was significant for this team because it moves this team from 0-9 last season to 9-0 this season. It signifies a complete turnaround for this group of players and lends credence to all their hardwork and commitment. It was important for us to start out fast tonight and they did that. I am proud of them. We have had tremendous senior leadership to this point and we look for more the rest of the way."
The Rocks were led by quarterback Tyler Allen who threw for 292 yards and five touchdowns on 18-for-23 passing. He added 29 yards on five carries, Corbin Patton rushed for 101 yards on nine carries and a touchdown. He also added four receptions for 27 yards and a score.
Chase Rhodes led the receiving corps with five receptions for 102 yards and two scores.
The win moves the Rocks to 9-0 overall which marks the first time that SSC is undefeated this deep in the season since 1964. The Rocks can go for the first unblemished season since 1919 next week against the Pass Christian Pirates. Game time at McDonald Stadium is set for 7 p.m. See you at the game!
