Classic cars from all over the country began crowding in to Bay St. Louis on Thursday for what organizers are saying is the biggest Cruisin’ the Coast event yet. Cruisin’ activities continue in Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian today.
Classic cars from all over the United States cruised through Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian on Thursday and Friday in the biggest Cruisin' the Coast event on record.
As of noon on Friday, Cruisin' the Coast officials said, the event had 6,954 registered cruisers, up from last year's record 6,100.
Classic cars were practically bumper-to-bumper in Old Town Bay St. Louis both Thursday and Friday, with hundreds more people out roaming the streets just to enjoy the spectacle.
"The cruisers love Bay St. Louis," Mayor Les Fillingame said Friday. "And Bay St. Louis loves the cruisers."
The Cruisin' action continues in both the Bay and the Pass today, and Old Town merchants will also be celebrating their Second Saturday Artwalk (more on that on page 6A).
