More than 350 classic cars cruise through Diamondhead on Wednesday for the first annual Blessing of the Classics.
Cruisin' the Coast is officially under way in Hancock County – more than hundreds of classic cars cruised through Diamondhead on Wednesday for the first annual "Blessing of the Classics," and on Thursday morning, cruising in force in Old Town Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian.
Entertainment begins at 11 a.m. in both Bay and the Pass, and the party will roll on today from 5 to 10 p.m., in the historic Depot District. The evening will feature live New Orleans music, jambalaya and other regional foods, a one-of-a-kind car contest, raffle and draw-down, as well as surprise entertainment. Admission to the event is free, and proceeds from food sales and contests will benefit Bay-Waveland Habitat for Humanity.
Bay St. Louis Police Chief Mike De Nardo has announced several street closings in the downtown area to facilitate Cruisin' the Coast.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the following street closings will take place, De Nardo said.
* North Beach Boulevard will be closed at Ulman Avenue.
* South Beach Boulevard north will be closed before the railroad tracks.
* South Beach Boulevard northbound will be closed for through traffic at Bookter Street.
* Main Street will be closed to all traffic from Toulme to the beach.
* North Second Street will be closed southbound at State Street.
* South Second Street will be closed at Court Street.
* South Second Street and Esterbrook Streets will be closed to traffic EXCEPT for people living and working on Court Street.
Access to St. Stanislaus, Our Lady Academy and Holy Trinity Schools
Parents and students are to take Washington Street to Beach Boulevard, turn left on Beach Boulevard and continue past Barricade by Bookter Street, and turn left on Union Street to school.
For Holy Trinity access can still be made through the church's community center parking lot.

2014 Registration open noon-5 p.m.
Counts Kustoms signing autographs 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Cruise Central, 2-4 p.m. in Bay St. Louis
Two Mississippi Gulf Fresh Seafood Samplings at Cruise Central, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Big Easy in the Bay, Bay St. Louis, Depot District, 5 p.m.
Dennis Gage, of the TV program “My Classic Car,” signing autographs, 9-10:30 a.m. in Pass Christian.
The Mississippi Heritage Aviation Museum will conduct a Fly-By in salute to Cruisin’ The Coast. The planes will take off from the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport and fly along the the beachfront from Ocean Springs to Bay St. Louis, 3 p.m.
