The city of Bay St. Louis on Thursday adopted a $23 million budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year.
Ward Two Councilwoman Wendy McDonald thanked the administration for its work on the 2014 budget.
"I just want to take a minute to thank City Clerk David Kolf and Les for presenting this budget the way you've done it," McDonald said. "For me, I feel this has been the best year to understand exactly what we were doing, where we were going and what we were going to commit to.
"This process was a lot of meetings, but I feel that everybody has a full understanding of what we have chosen to do."
"I think we've been very lean," McDonald said. "I don't think there's anything frivolous in the budget.
"I think we have been cautious, responsible and I think this is a good budget."
