Bay High School soccer coach Kelly Ross announced the following Achievement Awards during the recent soccer banquet:
Coty Mitchell - Most Improved
"Making the transition from playing keeper exclusively to playing on the field is not an easy task. This player was able to make this transition look easy."
Trevor Strong - Academic Award and Defensive Player of the Year
”this player switched from outside back to sweeper this year and performed extremely well. He has also maintained a 101 average throughout his 4 years of high school.
Colby Krost - Scoring Leader
"He scored 29 goals in only 14 games this season which averages out to more than two goals per game. He also had 7 assists. He has been the most dominant player on the coast for the last 2 years. He has been named to the Clarion Ledger All State Team 2 times and is also a 2 time Sun Herald all coast team member."
Michael Stringer - Playmaker Award
"He scored 13 goals and had 14 assists this season. He was selected to the Clarion Ledger All-State Team and is also a 2 time member of the Sun Herald All coast Team. Michaels presence in the center midfield winning balls and creating scoring opportunities has been essential to our success over the last two seasons."
Grant Adam - MVP
"A team can not win 18 games in a season without a solid goalkeeper who not only makes the saves you expect him to make but also some spectacular ones. He played every minute of every varsity game this season. He has become a team leader and I am very happy to have him returning for one more run at state Championship next season."
