Workshop on what the Affordable Healthcare Act means for you
Apr 30, 2013, 19:06
The Hancock Chamber’s Business Resource Center and Hancock Medical will host a free workshop, “The Affordable Care Act: A Health Care Primer for Small Business Owners,” on Thursday, May 9 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Leo W. Seal, Jr. Community Center in Waveland.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Affordable Care Act or ACA) enacted comprehensive health insurance reforms designed to ensure Americans have access to quality, affordable health insurance.
The ACA includes a variety of measures specifically for small businesses that help lower premium cost growth and increase access to quality, affordable health insurance. Depending on whether you are self-employed, an employer with fewer than 25 employees, an employer with fewer than 50 employees, or an employer with 50 or more employees, different provisions of the Affordable Care Act may apply to you.
Bob Pascasio, CEO, Hancock Medical Center, will share what the law means to employers, including options, requirements and deadlines. Information will be provided to keep local businesses updated as the process unfolds. The presentation will include a Q&A session.
The Hancock Chamber’s Business Resource Center offers education and counseling services to business owners, in areas such as business start-up planning, financial management, business insurance, marketing and pursuing government contracts.
