Former Tiger Bell named NAIA hoops All-American

Daron Bell, a former Bay High Tiger, was recently named an honorable mention NAIA All-American in menís basketball following the 2013 season.
The junior guard/forward averaged 15.75 points per game for the William Carey Crusaders this past season and helped lead the squad to the NAIA national basketball tournament.
He also grabbed 4.68 rebounds per game, ranked fourth nationally in steals per game with 2.81 per contest and sixth nationally in total steals with 73.
He was also named to the first team for the Southern States Athletic Conference all-conference team and to the SSAC All-Tournament team.
Bell is a first-year player for Steve Knightís Crusaders after playing two seasons for Richard Mathis at Pearl River Community College where he was named an MAJC All-State player and all-star. Bell prepped at Bay High School where he started for former head coach Kelton Thompson for four seasons and lead the Tigers to the 2010 Class 4A state championship.
