The Hancock Chamber is hosting a free seafood marketing workshop for local restaurants on March 19 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the chamber office.
The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) will instruct local seafood restaurants on how they can use free resources to inform customers they are serving the freshest and most flavorful local catches. Some of the free resources provided by the DMR include window clings, menu inserts and other promotional items.
The Gulf Seafood Trace program, designed to help increase demand for seafood from the U.S. Gulf of Mexico by telling its story and ensuring market confidence, will also be discussed.
The goal of this event is to help local establishments set themselves apart and show support for the local fishing community. The workshop is sponsored by a grant from BP.
Restaurants can complete their free registration at www.hancockchamber.org.
For more information contact: Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, 111 Court St., Bay St. Louis, MS 39520, or call 228-467-9048.
