Friends, neighbors and relatives line the crime-scene-taped perimeter of a mobile home at CC Road in Kiln on Sunday evening as investigators from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation probe a shooting death.
A Kiln man was charged with murder on Sunday evening after allegedly shooting his own sister to death outside their home.
Hancock County sheriff's deputies arrested Kevin Boudreaux, Jr., 21, at the scene for the death of Janell Boudreaux, Sheriff Ricky Adam said.
The shooting occurred at around 4:44 p.m. Sunday in the front yard of a mobile home at C.C. Road, where the pair lived with their mother, Adam said.
"A domestic dispute involving a physical altercation ... began outside of the home between Kevin Boudreaux, Jr., and his former girlfriend," Adam said. "The dispute (culminated) with a physical assault," with Kevin shooting Janell once with a handgun, Adam said.
Janell Boudreaux was reportedly attempting to break up the fight between Kevin and his ex-girlfriend.
Kevin Boudreaux is incarcerated at the Hancock County Adult Detention Center under a $500,000 bond, Adam said.
Investigator John Luther is in charge of the case.
