Silver Slipper Casino was named “Chamber Member of the Year” for 2012 by the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, January 18, during the Chamber’s Annual Awards Gala held at the Northshore Harbor Center. The Slipper is the first business outside of St. Tammany Parish to receive the Chamber’s most prestigious award. “The St. Tammany Parish and Slidell community are an integral part of our market and community,” stated John N. Ferrucci, General Manager of Silver Slipper Casino. “We’re extremely proud of the recognition. I want to thank and congratulate all of our employees who have worked hard and contributed so much to the community on our behalf.”
The Slipper, which is a member of the Chamber’s “Chairman’s Club” (the highest level of membership), was also recognized in September 2012 as the Chamber’s Member of the Month.
Dawn Sharpe-Brackett, Chief Executive Officer for the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce said, “In the Chamber’s Mission Statement, we stress regionalism. With bordering Mississippi, it is very important that we reach across state lines to promote business and support. When the region prospers, all businesses win. We appreciate the relationship we have with the Silver Slipper and their continued support of our community, here, in Louisiana.”
The Slipper is an active member of the East St. Tammany Chamber, which has been recognized as the Louisiana 2012 & 2009 Chamber of the Year, as well as ACCE 2010 National Chamber of the Year. The Chamber co- hosts a Business After Hours with the Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, annually, at the Slipper. “We enjoy the annual event which is always greatly attended from both states,” said Sharpe-Brackett. “Slipper employees, Victoria Langlinais and Mike Scardino, are active board/EYP members with our Chamber. Their leadership stands out in our community.”
