Lady Tigers & SSC roll, Pass sweeps Seminary in basketball

The Bay High Lady Tigers continued their march through Division 8-4A with an 80-35 win over Poplarville on the road. Bay High (25-0, 7-0) was led by Christa Reed with 25 points, six rebounds and five assists. Terrica Williams chipped in 16 points. Bretta Hart added a doibke-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. She also had six blocks.
In the boys' game, Poplarville claimed a slim 57-53 win over the Tigers (9-9, 5-3). Justus Williams paced Bay High with 19 points.
The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws (9-12, 5-2) remained tied with Poplarville atop the Division 8-4A standings with 70-50 rout of Vancleave. Jerrod Rigby erupted for 29 points to lead SSC while Gatlin Fay added 12.
The Hancock Hawks split a pair of region games with Harrison Central Tuesday night.
The Lady Hawks (18-5, 2-2) defeated Harrison Central 52-47. Morgan Adam led with 15 points followed by Alissa Adam with 13 and Leigh Beaver with 11.
In the boys' game, Hancock was nipped 63-61 by the Red Rebels.
Connor Entriken led Hancock with 17 points followed by Matt Rawls with 14.
The Pass Christian Pirates swept a pair of varsity games with Seminary on Tuesday evening.
The Lady Pirates (18-5, 9-1) defeated Seminary 66-15 behind Aleigha Bowser's 16 points. Aliyah Bell added 14 in the win.
In the boys' game, the Pirates (17-6, 9-0) defeated Seminary 89-32. Dimitri Cook scored 34 points and Iran Delavallade chipped in 15 points.
In upcoming action, the Bay High Tigers host Long Beach on Tuesday, January 29th in non-division action. The Hancock Lady Hawks host Vancleave on Tuesday night before the Hawks return to region action against Gulfport on Friday, February 1st. SSC hosts Vancleave in Division 8-4A action and OLA travels to Resurrection on Tuesday.
