A convicted sex offender who currently has pending child pornography charges in Hancock County, has been arrested again, this time for allegedly trying to lure a juvenile to have sex with him, authorities said Friday.
Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam said in a statement Friday that Stanton Eric Ulmer, 37, of Bayside Park, was apprehended Thursday in Monmouth, N.J.
In September 2012, Ulmer was arrested for two counts of child porn after investigators executed a search warrant on his Bayside Park home.
Ulmer was subsequently released on bond and a week ago, the sheriff's office received a complaint alleging Ulmer was having "inappropriate" contact with a juvenile boy, Adam said.
An arrest warrant for enticement of a child to meet for sexual purposes was secured, but when deputies went to Ulmer's home on Tuesday, they discovered that he had left town.
With the help of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task force, authorities were able to locate Ulmer in New Jersey at his parents home.
Ulmer was captured without incident on Thursday and he is being held there pending extradition back to Mississippi, Adam said.
Ulmer was convicted of three counts of first degree sexual assault in 1999 in New Jersey.
