Lady Tigers defeat FCAHS on hardwood, Rocks & Pirates win

Several area teams gathered wins on the high school hardwood this past week. The Bay High Lady Tigers traveled north and beat the homestanding Aggies of Forrest County AHS in Division 8-4A action.
The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws and the Pass Christian Pirates both won while Harrison Central swept Hancock in a Region 4-6A matchup and the Lady Pirates of Pass Christina bowed to Collins. The Bay High boys were clipped by the Aggies.
The Lady Tigers (21-0, 4-0) defeated the Lady Aggies 84-48 as Christa Reed scored 38 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals in a complete stat line. Breanna Smith chipped in 13 points while Bretta Hart added 12 points and collected nine rebounds. Terrica Williams contributed 10 points and Jamaya Galloway had nine points, six steals and five assists.
The Tigers (6-8, 4-2) were narrowly defeated 40-35 by the Aggies as Justus Williams led the way with 14 points.
The Hancock Hawks were swept in Region 4-6A action by the Harrison Central Red Rebels. The Lady Hawks (16-4, 0-1) fell 63-50. Tiffany Eakins led Hancock with 17 points while Savannah Saucier and Alissa Adams added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
In the boys’ game, the Hawks fell short in a thriller 53-51. Connor Entriken had 16 points and seven rebounds while Justin Chiasson added 11 points.
The Pass Christian Pirates (12-5, 5-0) routed Collins 93-53 as Dimitri Cook tallied 34 points. Christian Alford contributed 22 points and Ashton Haulk collected 14.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Pirates (15-5) fell short in a 45-31 decision. Aliyah Bell and Netanya Wilkerson each scored six points in the loss.
The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws went on the road and defeated Greene County 59-42 as four Rocks collected double-digit points. Ramone Tate and Drake Davis each scored 13 points followed by Jerrod Rigby with 11 and Austin Walk with 10.
In upcoming basketball action, the Bay High Tigers will host Greene County on Tuesday, Jan. 15 and Vancleave on Friday, Jan.18 at the Wilmer Seymour Gymnasium-Mike Necaise Court. The Hancock Hawks host Gulfport on Jan. 15 and travel to D’Iberville on Jan. 18. The OLA Crescents host Gautier today and Seminary on January 15th. The Pass Christian Pirates travel to St. Patrick on Jan. 15 and host Perry Central on Jan.18. The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws host Poplarville on Jan. 15 and travel to Forrest County on Jan. 18.
