Bay takes three in I-10 Bash

The defending Class 4A state champion Bay High Tigers showed their prowess this past weekend with three wins in the I-10/I-20 Bash held in Gulfport in the Sportsplex.
On Jan. 4, the Tigers defeated Ridgeland 6-1. Colby Krost scored four goals and added one assist in the win. Trevor Strong and Coty Mitchell each scored one goal while D’Quan Lewis and Aubrey Pohl each tallied one assist.
On Jan. 5, the Tigers blanked West Jones 6-0. Krost again scored four goals while Trae Bordelon and Michael Stringer each added a goal in the win. Assists were tallied by Bordelon (2), Stringer (1), Strong (1) and Trae Necaise (1).
Later on Saturday, the Tigers stopped Class 5A perennial power Pearl 3-1. Stringer scored twice while Krost and Mark Johnson each scored once.
The three wins improved Bay High’s record to 14-1-2 overall.
Hancock lost to Oak Grove 4-1 and Brandon 6-0 on Saturday to fall to 5-7-2. Pass Christian (9-2-2) fell to Madison Central 1-0. The Rocks did not play and remain 3-4-1 and 1-1.
The Lady Tigers of Bay High fell to West Jones 4-1 on Jan. 4. Amanda Solome scored the lone goal for the Lady Tigers who dropped to 4-8-1 overall.
The Crescents of OLA (5-5-2) battled to a 0-0 tie with South Jones and a 1-1 tie with Ridgeland on Jan, 5.
The Lady Pirates of Pass Christian (8-4-3) and the Lady Hawks of Hancock (0-8-0) did not play.
In upcoming action, the Tigers travel to Vancleave for a Division 8-4A contest on Jan. 11 while Hancock hosts D’Iberville in a Region 4-6A matchup Friday evening. The Lady Pirates of Pass Christian and the Crescents of OLA lock horns in a crucial Division 8-3A contest at Pass Christian on Friday night. The Rocks are set to resume action when they travel to Poplarville for a Division 8-4A contest Friday night.
