The Bay St. Louis Police Department is seeking information about a recent string of home break-ins and burglaries.
Bay Police Chief Mike De Nardo said Tuesday that his department has received eight reports of burglaries in the the past two weeks.
The burglaries are mostly in the Garden Isle and Shoreline Park areas of the city, he said.
De Nardo said he believes the suspects are "casing" houses before robbing them.
None of the homes that were broken into were occupied, he said.
"They have been going around knocking on doors to see if anyone is home," De Nardo said. "If nobody is there, then they are breaking down the door and going in."
De Nardo said the robbers are mostly stealing electronic equipment such as televisions, DVD players.
The burglars are hitting homes during the day and night, he said.
De Nardo said there may be several people involved in the burglaries.
"We have a couple of witnesses see suspicious people, but we do not have any suspects identified at this time," he said.
De Nardo said anyone with information about the rash of burglaries can call the police department at 228-255-9191 or 228-467-9221.
He asked residents to report any suspicious people in their neighborhoods.
"We are going to catch them, it's only a matter of time," he said.
