Tigers split with Greyhounds on hardwood

The Bay High Tigers spllit a pair of games with the Ocean Springs Greyhounds at Bay High on Tuesday, December 28th.
The Lady Tigers (2-6) dropped their game with Ocean Springs 50-23.
The Lady Greyhounds jumped out to a 22-8 lead in the first period and did not look back. Ocean Springs led 38-15 at intermission.
Bay High head coach Debbie Triplett commented, "This is a learning year for us. We are trying to get on the same page. We are dealing with limited numbers, experience and injuries. We are focused on getting through this and gaining experience."
Tiahni Powell led Bay High with 11 points.
In the boys game, the Tigers (1-4) topped the Greyhounds 70-58.
Bay High led throughout including a 30-21 advantage at halftime.
The Tigers shot the ball extremely well and played solid defense to limit the Greyhounds.
Bay High head coach Randy McCrory stated, "Tonight was the first time we have played hard in all four quarters. We were able to handle their pressure as we were averaging 23 turnovers prior to tonight. Jaylan Wilson and Traylon Lewis are seniors and really shot the ball very well. We just have to keep practicing hard and focus on putting forth great effort on the floor."
Wilson led Bay High with 28 points and Lewis had 19 points.
In other recent action, the Hawks split a pair of games against d'Iberville on Tuesday. The Lady Hawks (8-1) beat the Lady Warriors 42-22 while the Hawks (1-4) fell 58-53.
Our Lady Academy (0-4) dropped their game with Vancleave 88-14 while St. Stanislaus dropped their game with St. Paul's in the New Orleans CYO tournament 54-46.
In upcoming action, the Tigers travel to West Harrison on Friday, December 8th while the Hawks will host Gautier. The Crescents are set to host Resurrection on Monday, December 4th and the Rocks will host Hancock on Tuesday, December 5th. See you at the games!
