Lady Pirates & SSC place third in state cross country meet

The Pass Christian Lady Pirates and the St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws both placed third overall in the Class 4A state cross country championships held this past Saturday at Choctaw Trails in Jackson.
The Lady Pirates placed third overall out of 17 teams in the Class 4A girls division with 105 points behind champion Senatobia with 58 points and runner-up Corinth with 90.
Lina May of Vancleave was the individual winner out of 124 runners with a time of 19:17.39. Pass Christian was led by 4A All-State runner Amylia Everidge in fifth (21:54.57), Aubrey Baughman in 11th (22:21.10), Haley Clark in 14th (22:43.99), Kate Stallings in 27th (23:40.50), Julia Hansen in 50th (25:34.26), McKenzie Frederick in 51st (25:38.57), and Kensington Mikulenka in 64th (26:32.77).
The Rocks placed third overall out of 21 teams with 111 points behind champion Corinth with 58 points and runner-up East Central with 77 points.
Dylan Allen Mooreville was the individual winner out of 150 runners with a time of 16:27.86. SSC was led by Class 4A All-State runner Landry Lemoine in seventh (18:03.17), Keegan Leverett in 18th (18:37.65), Carston Raymond in 23rd (18:57.42), Alex Koons in 28th (19:14.41), Kyle Capo in 35th (19:24.84), Brandon Griffith in 39th (19:32.02), and Carson Leverett in 44th (19:47.87).
The Pirates placed eighth overall with 235 points. They were paced by Mike Seignious in 20th (18:43.24), Nick Walrod in 29th (19:15.29), Sean Necaise in 42nd (19:42.55), Kyle Foretich in 70th (20:42.32), Andrew Crusan in 76th (20:52.05), Max Seignious in 93rd (21:26.41), and Skye Bortz in 106th (22:01.00).
The Our Lady Academy Crescents placed eighth overall out of 12 teams with 207 points behind champion East Union with 62 points.
Aubrey Britt of Lloyd Star was the individual winner out of 92 runners with a time of 20:57.87.
OLA was led by Ava Gordon in 38th (25:45.14), Alex Necaise in 41st (26:30.44), Taylor Slade in 44th (26:40.37), Megan Bryant in 55th (28:20.38), Isabella Gelpi in 56th (28:25.60), and Kennady Hertz in 58th (28:42.52).
The Hancock Lady Hawks placed 23rd overall with 667 points in the Class 6A girls division behind champion Ocean Springs with 30 points.
Katelyn Cartwright was the individual winner out of 165 runners with a time of 19:29.84.
Hancock was paced by Breanna Gipson in 140th (29:00.55), Skylar Curves in 148th (30:10.75), Chloe Herron in 149th (30:43.53), Annie Ladner in 153rd (31:24.39), and Victoria Sawin in 164th (38:09.00).
The Hawks placed 24th overall in the Class 6A boys division with 680 points behind champion Pearl with 35 points.
Tony Mack of Pearl was the individual winner out of 192 runners with a time of 16:30.09. Hancock was led by Terrell Jordan in 106th (20:48.26), John Champagne in 165th (24:10.52), Eli Grover in 168th (24:39.62), Ryan Westbrook in 181st (26:19.08), and Angel Navarro in 187th (27:29.43).
