A Hancock County grand jury has indicted a local man who allegedly committed a total of 19 counts of sexual assault on several underage victims during a three-year period from 2013 to 2016.
Hancock County sheriff's deputies arrested Joseph Scott Rogers, 34, in January 2016, and charged him with 21 counts of sexual assault.
The grand jury indicted Rogers on 19 of those counts.
The indictment was made public this week.
The charges include sexual battery, touching a child for lustful purposes, and unnatural sex.
Authorities said they received a report concerning Rogers last January and arrested him a week later.
According to the indictments, each of the victims was under the age of 14.
Rogers has remained incarcerated at the Hancock County Jail ever since his arrest.
An arraignment in the case has been set for later this summer in Hancock County Circuit Court.
An indictment is not indicative of guilt, but rather is a conclusion by the grand jury that there is enough evidence to send the case to trial.
