Rock-a-chaws claim fifth consecutive boys title, Lady Pirates take girls trophy in Division 8-4A track meet

SSC sophomore Davis Scharp clears the hurdle in the 110m high hurdles for SSC. Joining him to his right is teammate Brandon Bordelon and two lanes to his left is Seth Taylor. Bordelon won the event while Scharp placed second and Taylor was fifth.

The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws claimed their fifth consecutive Division 8-4A title and 20th overall since 1988 with an impressive performance across the board on Tuesday evening at Pass Christian.
The Rocks tallied 151.33 points to claim the trophy out-distancing runner-up East Central which recorded 105 points. Vancleave was third with 100.33 points followed by Pass Christian with 92, Moss Point 76.33 and Bay High with 29 points.
On the girls side, the Pass Christian Lady Pirates racked up 168 points for the team title over runner-up Vancleave with 149.50 followed by East Central with 107, Moss Point 63.50 and Bay High with 43 points.
The top four finishers in each event advanced to the Region 4-4A meet that will be held at Pass Christian on Saturday, April 22nd.
The Rocks were led by double-winner Brandon Bordelon who won the 110m high hurdles in 16.01 and high jump with a leap of 5'8". He also advanced in the 300m hurdles placing third in 44.53.
Mark Cook won the shot put with a throw of 44'10" and placed in the discus with a distance of 122'1".
Delvin Henry placed third in the 100m dash in 11.82 while Seth Taylor advanced in the 300m hurdles placing second in 43.83.
The Rocks swept the top three spots in the pole vault with defending Class 4A state champion Taylor Necaise winning the event with a vault of 11'6" followed by William Weber in second at 11' and James Sharp in third with a height of 10'.
Chris Lucore placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 5'4".
Nathan Bulot win the discus with a throw of 126'4".
Carston Raymond placed second in the 3200m run with a time of 11:28.72 followed by Landry Lemoine in third in 11:46.74.
Davis Scharp took second in the 110m high hurdles with a time of 16.48.
The Rocks 4x800m relay team of Michael Raymond, Jacob Kurka, Peyton Cabell and Madison Grindall placed fourth in 9:38.25 while the the 4x200m relay team of Nick Hava, Bordelon, Jake Greer, and Henry placed second in 1:37.66.
The 4x400m relay team Will Greer, Gaines Carter, Darius Pittman and Taylor placed third in 3:56.26.
The Pirates were led by Landon Wimberly who won the 300m hurdles in 42.40 and placed third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.79.
Devonte Toles placed fourth in the 100m in 11.89 but won the 200m dash in 23.13. Damonta Toles placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 39'8" and was fourth in the 200m dash in 23.80.
Aydarius Young placed third in the long jump with a leap of 20'1" and was fourth in the 800m run in 2:11.55.
Hayes Leyser placed fourth in the 1600m run with a time of 5:12.55.
The 4x800m relay team of Leyser, Tristan Tran, Mike Seignious and Young placed third in 9:26.25.
The 4x200m relay team of Issiah Tinson, Devonte Toles, Damonta Toles and Wimberly won the event with a time of 1:33.96.
The 4x100m relay team of VJ Swanier, Devonte Toles, Tinson and Dillon Weavers won the event in 44.89.
The 4x400m relay team of Titus Schwartz, Joshua Tinson, Gage Scruggs and Tran placed fourth in 4:03.56.
The Bay High Tigers were led by Vernon Barnes who won the 100m dash in 11.64. Ethan Loftin placed second in the 200m dash in 23.51.
The Tigers' 4x200m relay team of Barnes, Loftin, Bo Bowman and Zach Loftin was fourth in 1:39.34.
Bay Hugh's 4x100m relay team Barnes, Loftin, Bowman and Zach Loftin placed third in 45.41.
On the girls side, the Lady Pirates were paced by the 4x800m relay team of Haley Clark, Keylee Skinner, Mykenzie Mannion and Mina Tran which won the event in 12:21.23.
The 4x200m relay team of Dakala Hall, Aniyah Price, Heaven Maurice and Kamdyn Skinner won the event in 1:57.28.
The 4x100m relay team of Keylee Skinner, Sacara Martin, Jeasonna Alexander and Hall placed fourth in 1:01.60.
The 4x400m relay team of Haley Clark, Keylee Skinner, Mannion and Christian Brown placed third with a time of 5:37.05.
Kamdyn Skinner won the high jump with a height of 5' and placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 31'6". She was also third in the 400m fash in 1:09.72.
Amara Galatas won the shot put with a throw of 30'11" and the 100m hurdles in 19.30. Galatas also placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 32' and the 300m hurdles in 57.35. Ayshia Acker placed second in the shot put with 27' 6 1/2" and Alexander was fourth with 25'4".
Brown won the discus with a throw of 70'6" followed by Alexander in third with a distance of 65'1".
Tran won the pole vault with a height of 5' while Aniyah Price was second.
Clark was third in the 1600m run with a time of 6:35.40.
Maurice was fourth in the 300m hurdles in 1:02.36.
Keylee Skinner won the 800m run in 2:55.29 followed by teammate Clark in second with 2:57.82.
The Lady Tigers were led by Jamaya Galloway who placed third in the shot put with a thrown of 27'5".
Kylaryn Kilpatrick placed second in the high jump with a height of 4'8" and third in the long jump with a leap of 15'9".
Dasha Barnes placed second 100m dash with a time of 13.23.
Kalie Lindberg was second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 22.14 followed by Lilian Le in fourth in 22.75.
