Bay beats Pass, Stanislaus stings Hornets, Crescents rise above Richton on diamond

It is hard to believe but area teams are entering their third week of division play. The diamond seasons are flying by it seems and with several teams in striking distance of the post-season.
This past Friday evening all teams were in action and here are details of contests called in.
The Bay High Tigers (10-4, 2-2) defeated Pass Christian 6-1 to avenge last Tuesday's loss to the Pirates.
Both teams were knotted at 1-1 after three innings before Bay High added two runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth to seal the victory.
Gage Kiser was the winning pitcher scattering six hits and fanning nine batters. He also went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Cade Compretta had two hits and an RBI while Dillon Folse had two hits and two RBIs. Tyler Strong had two hits including a double and Addison Goscinski had two hits with a solo homerun.
The Pirates (8-8, 2-2) were led by Chris Piernas with two hits and an RBI and Mason Knapp had two hits. Typically Trochesset added a hit.
On Saturday, Bay High defeated Resurrection 9-1. Goscinski had three hits to pace the Tigers. Kiser, False, Strong and Dalton Dore all added hits while Compretta, Cole Brady, Strong and Folse all had two RBIs. Joe Bell added an RBI.
Pass Christian dropped their game with Stone on Saturday 3-2 but game details were not available.
The Hancock Hawks (3-12, 0-4) dropped a 9-1 decision to Ocean Springs on Friday.
Mathen Bourgeois, Nick Cuevas, Dalton Necaise, Matthew Chighizola and Clayton Houchin all had hits in the game.
The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws (8-5, 3-1) sit atop Division 8-4A after their 7-1 win over East Central on the road Friday evening.
Nick Hertz pitched a complete game for the win. He allowed nine hits and struck out 10 batters to improve his record to 4-1.
Hertz also helped himself at the plate going 4-for-4 with three RBIs.
Brendan Logan added two hits and stole a base while Levi Knight and Magruder O'Bannon each had a hit. O'Bannon also had two RBIs.
On the softball diamond, the OLA Crescents (12-2, 4-0) are the only team that called a score in over the weekend after they defeated Richton 5-1.
Dallas Blazer earned the win on the mound fanning seven batters. At the plate, she smacked a two-man homerun. Carson Cuevas, Camille Cottone and Alex Necaise all had RBIs.
In upcoming baseball action, Bay High travels to East Central on Friday and Perry Central on Saturday. The Hancock Hawks host Harrison Central on Friday and travel to Picayune on Saturday.
The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws travel to Vancleave on Friday and Hattiesburg on Saturday
In upcoming softball action, the Bay High Lady Tigers are set to host Vancleave on Thursday, Gautier on Friday and their tournament on Saturday. Hancock will travel to Harrison Central on Thursday and will play at Bay High on Saturday. OLA is set to travel to Pearl River Central on Saturday.
