Rocks, Crescents & Pirates run in Hewes Invitational

The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws, Our Lady Academy Crescents and the Pass Christian Pirates all ran in the Gaston Hewes Invitational last Saturday in Gulfport.
The Rocks placed sixth out of 16 teams with 48.87 points. Biloxi won the meet with 121.87 points. The Rocks were the highest ranked 4A team in the meet. Pass Christian scored 20 points to finish 12th.
On the girls side, West Harrison won the team title with 129.50 points. Pass Christian scored 10 points to finish 13th while OLA had three points to finish 15th.
Several top ten finishes propelled the Rocks to their finish. Mark Cook was a double-winner for SSC claiming the top spot in both the shotput and discus. Cook threw 45'9" in the shotput and 128' 3" in discus. Both marks are personal bests.
Stephen Loupe placed seventh in the shotput for SSC with a throw of 37' 9".
Nathan Bulot placed fifth in discus with a throw of 108' 1" followed by Joe Reeder in eighth with a distance of 105' 4".
Landry Lemoine placed tenth in the 1600m run with a time of 5:25.60 and eighth in the 3200m run with a time of 11:28.50.
Carston Raymond placed seventh in the 3200 in 11:23.00.
Brandon Bordelon was fifth in the 110m high hurdles in 15.96, third in the 300m hurdles with a time of 43.30 and fourth in the high jump with a height of 5'8". Seth Taylor took ninth in the 300m hurdles in 44.90.
The 4x400m relay team of Liam Arnsdorff, Will Greer, Darius Pittman, and Taylor placed ninth in 4:00.00.
The 4x800m relay team of Michael Raymond, Peyton Cabell, Madison Grindall, and Jacob Kurka placed ninth in 9:56.29.
Taylor Because placed third in the pole vault with a vault of 10'6" followed by William Weber in seventh at 10'.
Davis Scharp placed ninth in the long jump with a leap of 18'11" and tenth in theb110m high hurdles with a time of 17.89.
The Pass Christian boys team were paced by top ten finishes from Devonta Toles with a third place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 22.75. Hayes Leyser placed ninth in the 1600m run in 5:24.70.
Landon Wimberly placed fourth in the 300m hurdles in 43.66.
The 4x100m relay team of Zadarius Sutton, Isaiah Tinson, Damonte Toles and Devonta Toles with a time of 45.12.
The 4x200m relay team of Tinson, Wimberly, Sutton and Devonta Toles placed fifth in 1:34.49.
Damonte Toles took seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 39'3".
OLA was paced by a ninth place finish from the 4x400m relay team of Megan Bryant, Madeline Sampson, Theresa Crowe and Kylie Moore with a time of 4:59.00.
The 4x800m relay team of Bryant, Kensy Mikulenka, Crowe and Sampson placed seventh in 12:14.47.
Grace Bradford placed eighth in the pole vault with a vault of 6'6" while Bryant finished tenth with 6'.
The Lady Pirates were led by Kamdyn Skinner who placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 5'.
Heaven Maurice placed seventh in the long jump with a leap of 14'10".
Amara Galatas placed fifth in the shotput with a thrown of 29'6"
